Common Umrah Questions

What is the difference between Hajj and Umrah?

Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam, performed during specific days of Dhul Hijjah, and is obligatory once in a lifetime for those who can afford it. Umrah is a 'lesser pilgrimage' that can be performed at any time of year and is Sunnah Mu'akkadah (strongly recommended).

How long does Umrah take to complete?

The rituals of Umrah (Ihram, Tawaf, Sa'i, and Halq/Taqsir) can be completed in 3-6 hours depending on crowd levels. However, most packages include 7-14 days for a complete spiritual experience including visits to Madinah.

What vaccinations are required for Umrah?

Saudi Arabia requires meningococcal meningitis (ACWY) vaccination. Seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccinations may also be required. Check the latest Saudi Ministry of Health guidelines before travel.

What should I pack for Umrah?

Essentials include Ihram garments (for men), comfortable walking shoes, unscented toiletries, medications, prayer mat, Quran, a money belt, and modest loose clothing. Avoid perfumed items during Ihram.

Is Umrah visa free for Bangladeshi citizens?

Bangladesh citizens require an Umrah visa. Your travel agency typically handles the visa processing as part of the package. The e-visa system has made the process faster — usually 3-5 business days.
